| . | From the company
that broke the mould and started the synthetic drone reed revolution in
1985, we now offer to the pipers of the world the most revolutionary design
in drone reeds, the Omega Drone Reed. For centuries the design of drone reeds has revolved around the concept of a curved tung to enable it to vibrate. We at Ross Bagpipe Reeds Pty. Ltd. have now created a patented design that reverses this method to leave the tung in its unaltered state, and instead the bed of the reed is curved so that the tung can vibrate. This feature in itself has so many benefits over the traditional method used in all other drone reeds, but when coupled with our other patented concept of being able to alter the fulcrum point of the curvature, this produces an amazing degree of accurate control over strength, pitch and tonal quality, a feature not possible in any other drone reeds before now. We have created the most accurately adjustable reeds ever developed, which for the first time gives pipers the ability to setup their drone sound with confidence, knowing that they have the reeds that will always go, under all conditions, at the strength, pitch and tonal quality they desire, with the best efficiency ever achieved in drone reeds. This degree of control is achieved by the use of threaded screws to adjust the curvature and fulcrum point of the curvature, and also through the use of our newly developed screw adjusted bridle system along with the plug system also invented by Ross Bagpipe Reeds Pty. Ltd. back in 1985. We have employed the use of extremely high quality materials to ensure the reeds are going to produce the best sounding reeds available, and also continue to reliably provide this tone with enormous longevity. The advantages of the Omega Drone Reeds over other drone reeds are:
The Omega Drone Reeds have already been set-up to function straight out of the box, but we have designed the reeds to allow players to have the potential to set-up the reeds with a huge variety of strength, pitch, volume and tonal quality to suit their own needs.
